Software Support Engineer – Europe

As a Software Support Engineer, you will work closely with technical service teams, R&D specialists, and customers to improve the performance, reliability, and optimization of industrial energy storage solutions.
About the Role
This position combines software troubleshooting, technical analysis, and cross-functional engineering collaboration. You’ll support both remote and on-site operations, helping clients maintain high-performance energy systems while contributing valuable insights for continuous product improvement.
The role is well suited for engineers with experience in software systems, data analysis, firmware-enabled technologies, and industrial energy environments.
Main Responsibilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Deliver remote and field-based technical assistance for software and system-related issues
- Support commissioning and deployment of industrial energy storage systems
- Diagnose operational problems and recommend corrective solutions
- Assist field engineers through technical mentoring and knowledge sharing
Software & Data Analysis
- Use Python and SQL to analyze operational system data
- Identify trends, faults, and optimization opportunities through large-scale data analysis
- Support firmware and software troubleshooting activities
- Prepare detailed technical reports and service case documentation
Collaboration with Engineering Teams
- Work closely with R&D, Product Quality Assurance, and supplier engineering teams
- Support investigations into major product incidents and system failures
- Participate in field testing and validation activities
- Coordinate with internal engineering groups and third-party energy management partners
Documentation & Knowledge Development
- Create technical instructions, operational guidelines, and troubleshooting materials
- Contribute to knowledge base and technical training resources
- Share field experiences and lessons learned across engineering teams
Candidate Profile
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in software engineering or technical support environments
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, and software debugging practices
- Understanding of firmware-based or industrial software systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage technical priorities effectively
- Willingness to travel for on-site deployment and support activities
Preferred Background
- Experience with AI systems, knowledge base development, or simulation tools
- Familiarity with renewable energy or energy storage technologies
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong engineering fundamentals and troubleshooting intuition
